The Challenge
Identifying the potential issues with setting up & delivery of campaigns on Customer websites
There are a few challenges when it comes to Identifying issues with a potential customer website. If you can identify the challenges upfront, you can save a lot of headache for the customer by providing a list of prescriptive steps in order to set up campaigns in VWO.
When it comes to debugging the campaign delivery, there are challenges like FOUC, actions not getting applied, or the action getting applied to different page elements etc. In order to debug these issues, developers need control on the script which is added by the customer on their site. Customers have added minified version of the VWO script hosted on CDN so it made life hard for developers to debug the production version of the tag.
The Solution
Adopting Requestly for testing the client sites and also empowering developers to load their local scripts in runtime for debugging campaigns.
Nitish and his team actively use Requestly for development & debugging purposes. In order to identify the potential issues with customer websites, they use Modify Response headers feature in Requestly and identify the changes to be made at customers end. This avoids a lot of headache for customers and saves a lot of time in debugging.
Developers at VWO also use Requestly to load local/dev version of the tag instead of production version to test their local changes before the deployment. This also helps them in debugging campaigns and other production issues.
QAs at VWO use Requestly to block third-party scripts on customer’s websites to identify if there’s any conflict with VWO code or not.
